Personnel:

SoundLocker's real strengths lie in it's personnel. As much emphasis has been placed on creating the right team as providing the right environment and equipment. It's amiable and talented engineers and support staff run sessions smoothly and enjoyably. By doing so, producers and artists alike feel at ease and free to explore their session creatively.

Here is a brief introduction to SoundLocker's small but fervently dedicated recording team.

Win

Black Wookie Recording's Win Stanley has found the perfect home for his fastidious nature and attention to detail in the art of secondary sound transduction. As our resident engineer he has been instrumental in bringing together the studios collection of boutique and high end equipment. He boasts a career spanning almost two decades as a musician, producer, and latterly a tracking and mix engineer. His dedication to the craft, technical ability and creative experience come together to extract the most and then capture correctly every session regardless of budget, prestige or musical genre.

Matt

Personable assistant engineer, Music Production Degree Graduate Matt Westgate has made himself indispensable. Not only for his ability to keep a session ‘up' all day or night but also his canine hearing. He has been known to spot a squeaky kick pedal at 50 paces! His enthusiasm and commitment to the cause make him a valuable asset on tracking days.

Scott

SoundLocker's co-owner/manager/receptionist and cleaner is also an intrinsic part of the recording team. He is ever present and always keen to cast a critical ear on sessions as they develop. As well as being the driving force behind the SLS ethos, his experience as a recording artist and producer is valued highly by the engineers, adding an essential detached opinion when called upon.

Warwick

Being responsible for inventing modern pop/rock music has been a heavy burden to bare for co-owner Warwick. Never one to take too much credit away from George Martin for creating the Beatles ‘sound' either, he has always in his long and illustrious musical career preferred to take less of the spotlight. Little is known in actual fact about the mysterious Mr Huntington other than no-one is at any time allowed to cast a shadow upon him or look him directly in the eyes…

Footnote

At present SoundLocker does not ‘dry-hire' the studio. One of our engineers must be present at all times. Their experience of our extensive kitlist will no doubt prove invaluable to any hiring artist or producer.
